This profile responds to the demands of the labor market in Germany and Paraguay, according to a market study conducted by the two founding institutions of the Universidad Paraguayo Alemana: SRH Holding and the Paraguayan Industrial Union.
To achieve this profile, the program has a duration of eight semesters and applies a competency-based education model: Competency Oriented Research and Education (CORE), developed by SRH Holding.
The degree program lasts eight semesters, of which six semesters are completed on the campus of the Universidad Paraguayo Alemana and two semesters at SRH Holding in Germany. The course content is based on the SRH Heidelberg program and complies with ANEAES quality criteria, adapted to the context of Paraguay’s business environment.
The main components of the program include:
These modules provide logical and cognitive training that underpins academic learning, including mathematics, statistics, and learning skills, delivered in intensive five-week blocks.
Structured in five-week blocks to develop technical and human competencies in the field of business engineering, such as strategic planning and negotiation, change management, productive processes, human resource management, marketing, and finance. Most of these modules are completed in Paraguay, and two of them are taken in Germany.
Classes are offered in Spanish, German, and English throughout the program. However, “German Communication” is a set of modules offered during the first five semesters of the program, thereby promoting the acquisition of language skills and intercultural competence.
The program includes an internship in Paraguay lasting ten weeks and an internship in Germany with a duration of four to six months. Both internships aim to enable students to apply the competencies acquired in business environments, both locally and internationally. The international internship is supported by intensive guidance from the International Relations Offices of both UPA and SRH Heidelberg.
In the eighth semester, the student completes the program with the defense of a thesis in Paraguay. Thesis preparation is supported by a UPA thesis mentor and includes follow-up workshops and peer exchange sessions throughout the final semester of the program.
