This profile meets the demands of the job markets in Germany and Paraguay, according to a market study conducted by the two founding institutions of the Paraguayan-German University: SRH Holding and the Paraguayan Industrial Union.
To achieve this profile, the Business Engineering program spans eight semesters and applies a competency-based training model: Competency Oriented Research and Education (CORE), developed by SRH Holding.
The degree program lasts eight semesters, of which six are completed at the Paraguayan-German University campus and two at SRH Holding in Germany. The course content is based on the SRH Heidelberg curriculum and adapted to the Paraguayan business environment in accordance with ANEAES quality standards.
The main components of the program include:
The basic modules provide logical and cognitive training that supports academic learning, and include mathematics, oral and written communication, statistics, accounting, and business management, delivered in intensive five-week blocks.
Comprised of five-week blocks designed to develop technical and human competencies in the field of business engineering, such as strategic planning and negotiation, change management, production processes, human resources management, marketing, and finance. Most of these modules are completed in Paraguay, and two of them are taken in Germany.
Classes are offered in Spanish, German, and English throughout the program. However, “German Communication” is a set of modules offered during the first five semesters, thus promoting the development of language skills and intercultural competence.
The program includes a ten-week internship in Paraguay and a four- to six-month internship in Germany. Both internships aim to enable students to apply the competencies acquired in both local and international business environments. The international internship is supported through intensive guidance from the International Relations Offices of both UPA and SRH Heidelberg.
In the eighth semester, students complete their degree by defending a thesis in Paraguay. The thesis preparation is supervised by a UPA thesis mentor and includes follow-up workshops and peer exchange sessions throughout the final semester.
