The Universidad Paraguayo Alemana adheres to German quality standards in order to maintain its German accreditation. In Anglo-Saxon and Northern European university systems, the title Professor is used exclusively for academics holding permanent positions who teach and conduct research at the university level.
The process of obtaining this academic title involves a public call for applications, a selection committee, and an evaluation that the faculty member must successfully pass. Once the process is completed and approved by the Academic Senate, the University formally grants the title of Professor to the faculty member.
The Universidad Paraguayo Alemana has a broad staff of professors and international faculty who travel to Paraguay to teach modules to UPA students. The faculty body includes academics from countries such as Switzerland, Germany, and the Netherlands.
In addition, some modules are taught in German in order to strengthen language skills prior to completing academic modules and internships in Germany. All of this is part of the university’s philosophy of interculturality and its commitment to preparing students for the successful development of their competencies during their international experience.
